From Salisbury Academy to Broadway: How Encouragement Shaped Morgan Warren’s Journey
Long before she was helping produce Tony Award-winning Broadway productions, Salisbury Academy alum Morgan Warren was discovering her love of storytelling on the SA stage.
Morgan’s first performance came as a third grader when she was cast in The Tempest. From that moment on, the arts became a central part of her Salisbury Academy experience. Whether performing in school productions or exploring theater opportunities throughout the community, she found a place where her creativity was celebrated and her passions were taken seriously.
What stands out most when Morgan reflects on her time at Salisbury Academy isn’t a single performance – it’s the teachers who saw possibilities she hadn’t yet imagined for herself.
One of those mentors was beloved science teacher Katie Reefe, who introduced Morgan to New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts while she was still in eighth grade. At a time when a career in theater seemed uncertain, Morgan recalls that her teachers were already thinking several steps ahead, helping her envision a future where her passion could become her profession.
She also credits longtime teacher Heather Coulter with preparing her academically and encouraging her to pursue excellence, giving her the confidence to believe there were no limits on what she could achieve.
That foundation led Morgan to New York University, where she earned a degree in drama along with two business minors from the Stern School of Business in producing and the business of entertainment, media, and television. Along the way, she built meaningful mentorships, gained invaluable industry experience, and launched a career that has taken her from touring with Grammy-nominated artist Josh Groban to working behind the scenes on Broadway.
Today, Morgan serves as a producing assistant with No Guarantees Productions, a company involved in many of Broadway’s most celebrated productions. She recently helped support the campaign for Schmigadoon!, which earned four Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Looking back, Morgan sees a consistent thread running through every chapter of her journey.
“From my teachers in junior kindergarten at Salisbury Academy who never told me I was singing too loudly to my CEO today, my dreams and career have been built on the encouragement and support of exceptional, brilliant, and generous women who saw my future as limitless and my work ethic as inexhaustible.”
At Salisbury Academy, students are known, encouraged, and inspired to pursue their passions with confidence. Morgan’s story is a powerful reminder that when teachers recognize potential early and invest deeply in their students, the possibilities truly are limitless.
