Alumni Spotlight

Damian Brandon

Damian Brandon is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he is majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry on the pre-dental track. He is passionate about pursuing a career in dentistry with the goal of becoming an orthodontist and eventually returning home to provide care to his community and underserved areas where services are most needed.

At UNC, Damian has been involved in several leadership and service roles, including serving as a peer instructor for Biology 101, where he mentors and guides first-year students. He is also actively involved in the Undergraduate Student National Dental Association, where he will serve as Vice President during the Fall 2026 academic year, as well as the American Student Dental Association. Through these organizations, he has continued to grow as a future dental professional.

In addition, Damian has gained hands-on experience through shadowing general dentists and orthodontists, as well as participating in programs such as the Summer Health Professions Education Program and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine Bridge to Dentistry program. This summer, he will travel to Costa Rica to participate in the VIDA Volunteer Program, where he will spend 10 days assisting with dental care services and supporting underserved communities. This opportunity will allow him to further develop his clinical exposure while giving back to populations with limited access to oral healthcare.

Reflecting on his time at Salisbury Academy, Damian shares:

“I am incredibly grateful for the strong foundation Salisbury Academy gave me both academically and personally. The supportive environment and emphasis on leadership, character, and curiosity played a major role in preparing me for the challenges of college and beyond. Salisbury Academy helped shape my confidence, work ethic, and desire to serve others, all of which continue to guide me on my journey today.”
